Academic Coaching at Grand International Edu Group (GIEG) exists to address the holistic needs of postgraduate students that impact their academic success. Academic Coaches helps students assess where they are now and articulate where they want to be going forward. Postgraduate Coaching
How does it work?
Postgraduate programs, whether Masters or PhD will challenge you in ways that are very different from the undergraduate experience. Common challenges include managing research and coursework, preparing for proposal defence and viva, tackling and solving a complex research project, clarifying research direction and issues, planning and writing thesis or dissertation.
At GIEG, we provide you with the necessary assistance and guidance so that your postgraduate journey is more rewarding and productive. Our Academic Coach will engage you in an understanding conversation that elicits your own insights and builds on your strengths. We will also offer effective suggestions for you to try.
If you would like to meet regularly with a coach, we can help you build your new insights and strategies into habitual ways of thinking and approaching your work.
These one-on-one sessions enable students to:
-
- Develop individualized study habits, test-taking skills, and plans for assignments
- Enhance broader academic skills including time management, course selection, and much more
- Discuss and explore self-care and wellness strategies that will help them to stay healthy
- Discuss academic choices such as concentration selection, working with an advisor and faculty members
- Reflect upon their academic goals, personal aspirations, and values as they relate to their academic experience
- Stay motivated and focused on their academic and extracurricular activities
